Healthy dose of talent at the Summer Show

This year the annual Summer Show came with an added extra: a whole host of community events and information sessions organised by our fantastic Parent Council with Westbourne Community Champions.

After a long year of hard work, parents, carers and staff were able to take advantage of everything they needed to unwind with the help of Time to Talk, My Time Active, Mother Tongue Counselling, Working with Men and even massages! A 'juicer bike', which allowed students to make tasty smoothies through pedal power, and the raffle were also a hit.

Now fully relaxed and feeling healthy, the audience gathered to enjoy the Expressive Arts show, which was packed with exceptional dance, drama and music performances. Principal, Dr Rana, said she was astounded by the level of talent on show, with staff agreeing that the performances were among the most high quality ever on stage at the Academy.

The evening finished with a great deal of cake being consumed, but for once no-one needed to feel too guilty as all cakes were sugar-free entries to the Parent Council's cake competition. Congratulations to Ms Salih for beating Mr Krasser to first place!

A huge thank you goes to our Parent Council, Westbourne Community Champions, all the organisations who participated and the local businesses who contributed raffle prizes, not to mention our brilliant student performers and the parents, carers and their peers who attended to support them. We are looking forward to the next one!
