Year 7 students' day with royalty at Windsor Castle
This Monday, we were given the opportunity to visit Garter Day at Windsor Castle. This was attended by many celebrities including the Queen, Camilla and Prince Charles.
The event started with a parade which was followed by an amazing performance from a marching band, which was breath-taking. Then, finally, the Queen emerged in a lovely car. We were all beside ourselves with excitement, and we were even happier when we managed to get a wave from her!
Once the ceremony was finished, we explored the castle grounds and even took a picture with a very stern-faced guard. Despite our efforts, we couldn’t get a laugh or even a smile out of him! After a delicious Windsor Castle ice cream, it was time for us to leave. As sad as it was to leave, it was really amazing to be there and have this once in a lifetime experience.
Finally we would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr Rana, Miss Taylor, Ms Collins and our peers for making this possible. This trip was an honour and an experience we will never forget.
