For Parents & Carers
Letter from the Principal
Parents and carers can view the letter from the Principal (2nd October 2024) here.
Communicating with WA
Parents and carers play a crucial role in the progress and achievements of Westminster Academy students.
- The first point of contact for all parents and carers is their child's personal tutor.
- The Academy holds Parents' Evenings, Tutor Evenings and provides reports to ensure parents and carers are kept up to date and can involve themselves in their child's learning.
- The weekly newsletter includes notifications and events.
- The Principal holds informal coffee mornings or after school chats with parents and carers.
- Close cooperation between school and home is vital to the success of our students. To this end, we invite parents and carers to read our Parent, Carer and Visitor Code of Conduct to help us promote positive, constructive communication at all times.
Information for new students
This guide helps students be ready for the school year:
Uniform
This guide explains uniform and equipment requirements (more can be found in our uniform policy on our Key Information pages here):
WA's uniform provider is Ace Clothing. For more details, and to order online, please visit their web page:
Second-hand uniform
WA has a small inventory of second-hand uniform items available. Please contact us if you have specific requests and we will check our inventory.
Contributions to the inventory (items of WA uniform in good condition) are welcomed at the end of each term and can be dropped off at the Academy reception.
Hot lunches
Our in-house catering team freshly prepare a variety of meals for our students every day. The weekly menus are available to download below.
Absence requests
If parents/carers need to request that their child is absent from school, they are asked to complete this form. The form should be completed and submitted at least two weeks (where possible) before the required leave of absence.
Exam re-mark fees
For information about the fees charged for requesting re-marks of GCSE exams in August 2024, please view this document.
Children staying over and in your care
