Back to News'Harmony, respect and mutual support' - Year 10s visit Kensington Palace
On 23rd April, a group of Year 10 students had an amazing opportunity to visit Kensington Palace for a Diversity Day with Naz Legacy Foundation.
The day began with a workshop led by a mentor who focused on the word Ubuntu. Ubuntu means “I am because we are”, and emphasises harmony, respect, and mutual support. It is all about community and being understanding. The workshop inspired us to always work as a team, understand others, and be true to ourselves and our surroundings.
Throughout the day, we worked with students from different schools, which helped us build confidence, improve our teamwork skills, and step out of our comfort zones. We also enjoyed a tour of Kensington Palace and a career speed networking session.
This opportunity gave us a chance to learn something new, and understand how people got into the careers they are in today, which really inspired all of us and helped build our confidence.
