WA artists' work displayed at the Royal Albert Hall!

On Sunday 14th December, I had the privilege of attending a private open morning at the Royal Albert Hall, celebrating the artwork of a select group of our Art students here at Westminster Academy.

Copy of IMG 5512Earlier in the year, students submitted their work to the Creative Collective (Westminster City Council), and we are incredibly proud that several pieces were chosen to be exhibited at such an iconic venue.

The exhibition was on display from 9th December to 19th December, allowing the public attending shows at the Royal Albert Hall to see the work of our young artists!

Gurra Fonda (Visitor):
“Visiting the Royal Albert Hall for the Creative Collective was a really special experience, and I felt incredibly proud to see my friends’ artwork displayed in such an iconic space. The atmosphere was inspiring, and hearing the staff speak about the collection and the creative process made the experience feel even more meaningful. Being surrounded by so much talent in a venue with such cultural significance was both exciting and motivating. It was also quite impressive to see that Valentina’s artwork was selected twice, making her the only artist to have two pieces shown. Speaking to the director about the work displayed and the selection process made the experience feel even more meaningful and highlighted how exceptional the achievement was. It was also exciting to see another one of my friends have their artwork displayed, which made the visit feel like a shared celebration of creativity and hard work.”

“Having my artwork displayed at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the Creative Collection was an incredibly exciting and surreal experience. I was especially proud that my work was selected, and speaking with the director about my work made the achievement feel even more rewarding. Seeing so many of my peers’ artwork from Westminster Academy displayed alongside mine and sharing the experience together made the moment even more special and unforgettable.”

FS artworkCongratulations to our artists who were featured at the Royal Albert Hall: La'Taysia, Youssrah, Sofia, Amina, Isabel, Fermeen, Valentina and Hannah.

We are also thrilled to share that one of our former Year 11 students was lucky enough to have their artwork displayed on the Paddington Tower by JCDecaux. This work was shown on a rotating display before Christmas, so you may have seen it if you were passing by!

We are extremely proud of our students’ achievements. Moments like these are incredibly special and will stay with students for a lifetime.
